Literacy and Assessment Tech/Playground Aide

SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Principal, the Literacy and Assessment Tech/Playground Aide will support students in the literacy skills needed to learn to read, read to learn and comprehend; and, enable students through meaningful playground leadership, to enjoy group interaction and physical exercise, which are integral to the district educational program.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines
- Associate's degree or 60 completed college credits or passing score on Parapro exam
- Previous experience working with students
- Demonstrated compassion and understanding for children
- Experience working with confidential records preferred
- Shall have the ability to work and communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff members

Knowledge of:
- District and Department policies and procedures;
- Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases;
- Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.
Skill in:
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Proper English, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and punctuation
- Use of computers and technology, to include, but not limited to email, internet, Microsoft Office or equivalent software
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
A valid State Driver’s License may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with public and staff.
