SUMMARY

  

 

To assist the teacher in implementing goals and objectives.  To work closely with one or a few students on a regular basis to provide them with the academic and emotional support they need to gain the full benefit from instruction.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  1. Assists students while attending special area classes (P.E., music, art, etc.).
  2. Under the supervision of a teacher, works one-on-one or with small groups of students to guide them through academic lessons.
  3. Understands the importance of confidentiality of all student information.
  4. Performs playground and/or lunch duty, or crosswalk duty as assigned by the site administrator or teacher.
  5. Participates in any assigned trainings.
  6. Performs other assigned duties as required by supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Previous experience working with students preferred but not necessary.
  3. Physical ability to perform assigned duties.

  1. District and Department policies and procedures;

 

  1. Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.

 

Skill in:

  1. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with public and staff.

R12451 28.75 to 35 hours per week District Wide
