SUMMARY

 

Under the direction of the Information Service Director employee will ensure Crane Schools information technology infrastructure meets Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability requirements necessary to allow uninterrupted district education and operation services. The job goal will be accomplished by meeting following expectations: adhering to technical and administrative policies and procedures, adhering to performance metrics and service level agreement expectations, adhering to customer satisfaction level of expectations, and following Crane Schools Leadership Mission.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Keep current in the fields of computing and networking technologies and when budgeted attend technical training and seminars to stay abreast of new technology that would benefit the district.
  • Assist in the short and long-term planning and implementation of information technology infrastructure and applicable expansion solutions by providing the most efficient and cost-effective technology.
  • Assist in the creation, administration, and maintenance of end user accounts.
  • Troubleshoot, communicate, and resolve problems in a timely manner on all information technology infrastructure.
  • Perform routine scheduled and emergency nonscheduled software, firmware, and hardware updates and upgrades.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of information technology infrastructure and other end user interconnecting technology.
  • Ensure routine scheduled data backups are performed and tested. according to policies and procedures.
  • Define, create, implement, and maintain information technology policies and procedures.
  • Assist in establishing, implementing, maintaining, and reporting performance metrics.
  • Define, create, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Follows industry/company standards regarding safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintains work areas, tools, and PPE in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Assist and work harmoniously with vendors and Crane Schools employees.
  • Assist in maintaining current all hardware, software, and vendor services contracts.
  • Uses information technology management tools to manage end user incidents and task requests.
  • Participate in on call rotation for afterhours support during the week, weekend, and holidays.
  • Professional-upbeat attitude.
  • Perform other related duties as required by Information Services Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines

  1. Associates College Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Cyber Security, Networking, or similar area of study. Substitution of education may be applied towards education with two (2) years’ experience equaling one (1) year of formal education.
  2. Technology certification desired (CCNA, Network +, Security +, MTA, Jamf Certified Associate, or similar).
  3. Jamf 100 Course completion.
  4. Minimum 2 years’ experience in supporting macOS, iOS via Jamf.
  5. Minimum 2 years’ experience in supporting Users and Computers via Windows Active Directory.
  6. Strong attention to detail.
  7. Ability to comprehend and execute complex written and oral instructions.
  8. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical individuals.
  9. Ability to lift to 50 pounds; differentiate colors, bend, stoop, reach and climb.
  10. Good driving record

NOTE: Candidates can meet the minimum qualifications listed above with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. 

Knowledge of:
  1. Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and resolve network layer 2 & 3 problems.
  2. Knowledge of and ability to troubleshoot and resolve software application and server operating system problems.
  3. Knowledge of and ability to apply proper copper and fiber cabling techniques.
  4. Knowledge of enterprise information technology security best practices.
  5. Knowledge of enterprise data storage environments and best practices.
  6. Knowledge of enterprise data backups and best practices.
  7. Knowledge of Microsoft Hyper V and enterprise virtualization solutions and best practices.
  8. Knowledge of enterprise mobile device management best practices.
  9. District and Department policies and procedures.
  10. Pertinent local, state, and federal laws, ordinances, codes, and rules.

Skill in:

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.

 

LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

A valid State Driver’s License may be required.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed throughout the district and in a standard office environment.

Positions in this class typically require use of hands, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with public and staff.
