TITLE: Benefit Specialist-Affordable Care Act
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- 3+ years of Human Resource or employee benefit experience
- Knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting and tracking requirements
- Strong Communication, Presentation and Microsoft Excel skills
REPORTS TO:
Director of Human Resources
JOB GOAL:
To implement ACA district process and procedures and ensure that all staff are accurately measured and offered benefits.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for all aspects of Affordable Care Act reporting, tracking, and associated benefit offers.
- Develop, implement, and integrate ACA reporting to work in conjunction with payroll software.
- Develop compliance strategies to ensure adherence to the Affordable Care Act.
- Manages ACA required filings and communications. Responds to all Federal Requests and ACA related correspondence.
- Completes all data-entry and reporting for Affordable Care Act compliance.
- Perform reconciliation of monthly employee benefits invoices & audits process for accuracy.
- Calculates monthly FTE count potential penalty forecast.
- Develop all benefit communication/presentation materials for employees.
- Coordinate monthly new hire onboarding sessions with employees/departments.
- Annual Planning of Open Enrollment/Benefit Fair
- Performs other related duties as required by the Director of Human Resources
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Work year, salary and benefits as established by the Board.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job shall be evaluated by the Human Resource Director in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of classified personnel.
